Meet Your Instructor

Andrew Serrazina, CFI/CFII/AGI/IGI

I've helped dozens of pilots complete flight reviews, earn new ratings, and return to flying after time away. Whether you fly weekly or haven't been in a cockpit in years, my approach is the same: patient, personalized instruction focused on making you a safer, more confident pilot.

With a background in psychology (B.A.) and currently pursuing an M.S. in Aeronautics from Liberty University, I bring a teaching approach that focuses on how people actually learn — not just checking regulatory boxes.

Based at Barnes Municipal Airport (KBAF) in Westfield, MA, and willing to travel to your airport anywhere across Massachusetts or Connecticut.

Common Questions

How long does it take?
Plan for 2-3 hours total: 60-90 minutes of ground review and 60+ minutes of flight time. We'll schedule enough time to complete everything in one session.
What if I haven't flown in years?
That's completely normal. We'll start with ground review to refresh regulations and procedures, then ease back into flying. Many pilots use the flight review as a "rusty pilot" refresher.
Do you travel to other airports?
Yes! While I'm based at Barnes Municipal (KBAF) in Westfield, MA, I'm happy to meet you at your home airport anywhere in Massachusetts or Connecticut. Just let me know your preferred location when booking.
What should I bring?
Bring your pilot certificate, medical certificate (or BasicMed), logbook, and current sectional chart for the local area. We'll review your logbook together during the ground portion.
Can I use my own plane?
Yes! Most pilots prefer to fly their own aircraft. Just let me know the make/model when booking. I'm familiar with PA-28s, Cessnas, Cirrus, and most trainers.
What if weather cancels?
We'll reschedule for the next available day at no charge. I monitor weather closely and will contact you if conditions aren't suitable.
